Secondary and sixth form.

A Model United Nations (UN) Assembly is a simulation or role play of the United Nations. Participants take on the role of delegates from countries who are members of the United Nations and debate serious global issues such as climate change, child soldiers or the Israel-Palestinian conflict.

Model UN Assemblies enable participants to experience, practice and experiment with technical writing, debating, public speaking, listening, strategic thinking, conflict resolution, negotiation and decision making.

Successful Model United Nations Assemblies have taken place in the South West, with annual Assemblies now established in Torbay, Plymouth and Exeter. The programme is currently expanding to other parts of the South West including Cornwall. MUNSW has a dedicated interative Moodle website which students use when preparing to take part in a MUN Assembly: www.munsw.org.uk

See our MUN_flier_2013.pdf for more details or contact Devon Development Education at the Global Centre in Exeter if you would like to become involved.
