Stories from the FATA Region of Pakistan  

The Taliban originated in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas, FATA, of north-west Pakistan. In her talk Mishaal Javed will explore, through personal anecdotes, the stories of the people of this region. WaL 30 05 19Mishaal will discuss how the people were affected by the War on Terror as well as by terrorism and their treatment as an ethnic minority by the Pakistan Government. She will also examine the recent revolutionary human-rights movement called the Pashtun Tahafuz Movement

Migration and migrant caravans from Honduras and El Salvador

map croppedA talk by Martin Mowforth on the issues in Central America which have led to so many thousands of people walking to the US border.  

Martin Mowforth is a Visiting Specialist at University of Plymouth, and has extensive experience of working in Central America
