cultural champions logo

champion comes to visitA Cultural Champion is a Devon resident from another culture or religion, who comes into the classroom (or other space) to give pupils an authentic, personal view of their culture. In this way, Devon children and Devon adults can learn about other cultures and people that live here, broadening their minds and breaking down barriers.

The Cultural Champions programme was set up and is managed by Devon Development Education (DDE). DDE works with schools and the community to promote engagement with global issues. All Cultural Champions have undertaken an intensive 3 month training course to introduce them to working with children and adults within the UK education system. Cultural Champions are all CRB checked.
